ADDITIONAL INFO:     The 1006, Amphibian pattern has been around since the early to mid 1980s. Originally touted as a dive knife/combination boot knife, I think most of them were used as boot knives. I have seen them actually carried in a boot with the ABS sheath and it works fine. Some of the early models came with the ABS plastic dive sheath and a leather knife sheath. The early ones also I had straps you could use to secure the knife to your leg or arm while diving. This blade does has about 20% blade loss and is approximately ½ inch shorter than it came from the factory. The blade is a little narrower than it originally was, but the narrower blade to me feels like it is easier to control when compared to one with a full blade. This knife has seen quite a bit of use but still has another lifetime of service in it. Priced to sell!
