ADDITIONAL INFO:     This is a Western L36. It shows up in Harvey Platts book, “The Knife Makers Who Went West,” in the reprint of the 1950 catalog sheets, the 1959-1960 catalog sheets and finally in the 1968 catalog sheet reprint. In the catalog the blade is described as having overall length of the 9-5/8” and a blade length of 5-1/2.”  You will notice that this knife I have measured length listed as 10-1/8”, and the length of the blade as 5-5/8.” The explanation I have heard for this phenomenon, of the knife being larger than listed in the catalog is that different workers in the factory would grind the knives differently. The sheath is a new handmade custom leather sheath. I made it in the style of one of the Western sheaths and it is made from new 6 ounce leather. This is a new knife sheath and the knife is one of the cleanest example of this pattern I have seen. Westerns are probably my favorite knives because of their quality steel and heat treat their blades. This is an awesome knife, you won’t be disappointed
