ADDITIONAL INFO:     The knife was made by Coltellerie Maserin, in Maniago Italy. I'm not 100% certain, because there are a number of small companies the Maniago Italy area but I believe this was the same factory that made some beautiful knives for Kershaw circa 1990.

Pete Kershaw wrote a nice piece of the process of working with a small family company in Maniago that maked his knives. His description fits everything I've been able to research about Coltellerie Maserin.

I tried to get a Word for Word translation of "Coltellerie Maserin." The first word is pretty straightforward; 'Coltellerie' means cutlery in Italian. The word Maserin was a little more difficult to pin down using Microsoft translation software, but it seems to be a reference to a knife, perhaps even specific type of knife.

I believe in general, from some of the sites I visited that the term 'Coltellerie Maserin' in practical usage means Cutlery Company or Cutlery Maker.

Maniago is near where the finest in Italian shotguns are made, (Beretta, Perazzi, Benelli). Many of the cutlery factories also supply parts to the gun companies. There is no shortage of talent from the, they're used to working with precision parts and they do an outstanding job.

This knife appears to be un-carried, un-used and un-sharpened, and in the original box. It is a quality piece of cutlery. It is price to sell. They are listed and selling on eBay for about $75-$85. This will be a nice addition to someone's collection. These pictures do not do this justice! It is for more impressive when you hold it in your hand and feel the quality of the knife!
