BLADE ETCH:   Floral etch on the base of the blade and out along the spine of the mark side.

OAL:   8-1/4”

BLADE LENGTH:   4-1/2”

GUARD:   Brass half guard

POMMEL:  Aluminum mushroom pommel

HANDLE:   Stag

TANG STAMPS:   VOOS CUT. CO. (curved) / GERMANY

SHEATH:   Custom handmade sheath, I made it.

CONDITION:   Excellent

DAMAGE:   Some rust and scratching, mostly on the back of the blade. Normal wear.

BLADE WEAR:   Blade appears to be near full with very little loss.

MADE IN:   Germany

ADDITIONAL INFO:     I don't know a great deal about this knife other than I really like it. Goins gives  several dates for Voss Cutlery,  while LG4 only lists one date, 1900 - 1939. The other Voss company Goins  lists is 1968 to 1975. I believe this blade at one time was chromed to prevent rust the most of the Chrome has been worn off. I think the fact that the blade was chromed and not made of stainless steel points to the earlier Voss Cutlery Company mentioned in LG4 (Levine's Guide to Knives and Their Values). The markings on this knife do not fit the description of the Tang stamps listed in Goins, (Goins Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings).   No matter whether it was the earlier Voss Cutlery Co. or a later Voss Cutlery that manufactured this knife it is still a beautiful knife!
