ADDITIONAL INFO:     I love the old Western knives and I think their carbon steel is some of the finest carbon steel ever used in knives. To me they are worth the time and effort it takes to restore them and make them usable again. This one had the original stacked leather handle that had rotted from years of exposure to moisture. I removed the original handle, cleaned the tang, removed the rust, replaced the handle with Sambar stag and used epoxy to seal the back of the stag to prevent moisture from getting inside between the handles and the tang. I did not remove every ding from the knife for this knife will make an outstanding sportsman’s knife. Whether hunting, camping or fishing, or all three; this knife has a lifetime of service still left in it!

The sheath that came with this knife was pretty well worn out, after all is probably between 60 and 80 years old. I use the original sheath as a pattern and made a new sheath for this knife. It is hand sewn and hand riveted out of heavier leather than the original Western sheaths.

This is a restored & customized vintage knife. Like most old soldiers it may have a few battle scars, but it is ready to go to work!
