ADDITIONAL INFO: According to Phil Rodenberg’s book, A Chronology of Gerber Legendary Blades; © 2010; the Vulcan folders were imported from Japan in 1986 and 1987. He does not provide a great deal of information other than the handles are checkered rubber and that the Vulcan was made in three sizes. The large one #7555 is 4 inches in length, and this must’ve been a popular size. I’ve seen three of these I believe total, and one of the small Vulcan knives #7551. The small Vulcan is only 2-11/16” closed. Apparently the smaller ones were not as popular, or perhaps Gerber didn’t import as many but I have one #7551 currently for sale in my AAPK store and it is the only one I have seen. I have yet to find the middle sized Vulcan. These are good quality knives and the checkered rubber grip gives a very good grip if your hands were wet. Part of the reason for the scarcity of this series is the fact that they were introduced shortly before Fiskars but Gerber in 1986. Here is your opportunity to own a piece of cutlery history.
