Imperial Scout Barlow Frankenknife???????

Post by jerryd6818 »

I seldom see knives that I think are "put together" but this knife just doesn't look real to me. From the cap lifter secondary blade, to the Scout emblem on the bolster and those brand new synthetic (Delrin?) handles, it all looks like a nice knife put together by someones imagination. Tell me what you think.

I have no doubt it's a cobbled up fake.

It looks real to me!! ::paranoid::
Is that cosmoline on the tang?????

Definitely a shell handle Imperial frame with a Correct spear blade. (no rocker pin = shell)
Imperial made the Barlow's with 3 different blades; a clip, a spear, and a sheep's foot.

However, this blade combination is more common to Camco.

Scott's Mark Twain is from '73 according to schrades-r-us.
Although I haven't seen this one before - it doesn't mean it's NOT on there site!
I would date the knife to '73 also because of the similarities with the Twain knife.
(good eye Scott ::tu:: )
May be worth a look at the 1973 flyers to see if it's there.
