This is the type of knife that really gives me fits. It doesn't have a shield, It doesn't have bone handles to compare color and jigging with, and the only way to tell if it's authentic or not is to try to use the tang stamp. So now you get a picture of the stamp that's nice and fuzzy. So much for that idea. From what can be seen of the stamp it does look questionable with the tip of the "C" almost touching the top of the "A".
On this particular knife I just go by the seller (who definitely has some questionable knives) and the fact that everything is so fuzzy. If you can't really see it, you need to steer clear.

Re: vintage case tested 1920-1940
After reviewing this seller's complete ad on Ebay I noticed the disclaimer at the very bottom :
"THIS KNIFE IS MADE OF ORGINAL CASE PARTS FROM THE TIME ERA STATED ABOVE AND HAS BEEN RESEMBLED."
Seems too many bidders do not read the entire ad before placing a bid .... Reassembled, made from parts ... and I'm dubious on those pearl handles being original Case stock ...... In essence he is telling all " Hey, this thing is as phony as a three dollar bill, of course without stating the obvious. Makes you wonder who would place a bid and why ?
