sorry if I'm asking something really obvious here .......

I don't use the PM feature too often, but every now and then I recieve one from another member. When I try to respond, my message seems to stay in the outbox and I'm never sure if it was recieved. Eventually it ends up showing sent, but sometimes I never hear back from the sender - so I'm left wondering if they got the message.

Is this normal? Why does it stay in the outbox instead of going directly into sent items?

Good question! It should stay in the outbox until it has been read by the recipient. I believe it goes right to the sent box when it is opened and read. At least that seems to be my experience with the system. If I'm incorrect please let me know. When a pm is finally in the sent box I figure my message was read. It stays in the outbox until it's read. This is from my observations only from having used the pm system many times.

i believe hukk is correct....i once was doing some tidy behavior...clearing old pm's and such...deleted a pm that had not been recieved...boy did that guy get angry at me..."sent me mail then delete it?" i was just cleaning house, and had no idea how the system worked.

Happens to me also---But then again i am AMISH on this thing.
