R.I. Knife Co.

Bought a relic knife Saturday marked R.I. KNIFE CO over U.S.A. The only thing I could find was in Goins' book pg 230 saying mark was used 1920-1921 by Rhode Island knife Co. Does anyone have any information as to whether it was a manufacturer or a jobber. The knife is a dogleg two blade jack with cell handles brass liners and steel bolsters 3 3/8''long. Sorry but I cannot post pictures.Thank you in advance for any and all replys.

Sounds like a short lived distributor, maybe selling special orders. If it was a manufacturer, there might be more info.

Thank you upnorth for your input, now I have another one to carry around on Saturdays trying to figure out who made it.I like 2 dollar relics and sometimes even learn something.

page 229, goins. rhode island knife co. 1920-1921. factory was in woonsocket, r.i.

Thanks for the info jonet. I had a sheet of remington marks setting in the book,and completely missed that page. thanks again.

The few that I have seen and owned had the identical "DNA" to the older 1920's era solid bolster Imperial knives.
