Hi Carl, copy and paste all the information in the photobucket 'direct link' box associated with the photo. Great looking champagne pattern knife. Are the scales bone or well worn stag? .... very nice. Well worth the wait. :D s-k

first let me say that is fine looking knife. I just want to take the opprotunity to educate some who may be novices about knife patterns. As SK said, this is a champagne knife. It is not a bartenders knife, as there is a difference. Notice the tools. You would be hard pressed to open a can with that contraption. It was used to cut the wire on champagne bottles. A bartenders knife will have a cap lifter on it. Just my teacher mode kicking in. Again, that is super looking knife. LOVE the handles. Thanks for the pic.

Thanks guys for the info. Would anyone have any more info about this knife or know where to find more about it. I gave $75 for it at a show.

Hi Carl,

Goins' book list Vom Cleff & Co as being in business 1885-1926. It was an import company based in New York City and also had office in Chicago. The company imported knives and all types of cutlery from Germany. If your knife has Germany on it, then it was made 1891 or thereafter. What does it say on the master tang under Vom Cleff? ... I can't make it out from here. I hope this helps :D s-k
