All About Pocket Knives

I figured I’d post some pictures of my Imperial Crossbar knives. These are not high-end folders but I’ve always liked this knife style and the variety of colorful handles they have. Most of mine have been used and have some degree of blade loss and more or less pitting. It’s common that you find these in pretty rough shape with rust and pitting so some of them require a little TLC. I’ve noticed that the older knives with the Hammer Brand stamp have thicker liners than the knives with the Imperial stamp, although the latter in most cases are in worse shape than the former. Anyhow, they make a prettyful display on my home-made card. Thanks for looking!

Yes, it's not an original Imperial card from the early 50s.

They're printed at a print shop however - I just bring my Photoshop file.

Man those are great desktop. It is so hard to find nice ones like those. I hope I'm not hi-jacking your thread but I have a couple of them too.

Those two are in really nice shape! I've only got one that's around near mint condition, and that's the one with the green and silver handle. They aren't that common but they show up now and then - but if you're looking for knives in a condition like the ones you have it might take you a while to find them. A couple more and you need a card to display them, he, he!

I can't decide which is more impressive, those knives or lenny357's ability to recognize that the card isn't original.

Your display looks great. How did you stabilize the card with the knives in place? Any way to see a picture of the back to see how it's set up? Your knives really look outstanding with that display. Thanks for sharing it with us.

The card is attached to a foam board.

Thanks for the photos Desktop. It's great to see how you used one piece of elastic and then just tied it in the back. I've been wanting to experiment with making my own card with some the the drawings I've made. Is that foam board easy to cut? Your display cards have been very inspirational. Thanks again.

It is if your knife is very sharp - otherwise it'll crumble and you get a very messy edge. I use a new blade on my box cutter for each card. The fun part is to learn how and how much spray adhesive to use when applying the print to the board. Remember, you got 15 seconds for permanent hold...he, he!
