All About Pocket Knives

Thanks to Keith I have a new pet coon to add to my collection, I love these little critters !

I like it yerout, anything that has a tang that says Col Coon is pretty cool in my opinion....

It seems like I was out to lunch when you discussed this brand, where did you get it from (maybe a link ) and what is the average price for his stuff...

I'm jealous. I still don't have a Col Coon in my collection but I've been drooling over their stag handled barlows for a long time.

I just saw a couple of Col. Coon knives over on E-bay. They were both up to $30 or so.

Ok reading the archives here on all about pocket knives I have gathered that Col Coon knives were bought out by Case about 10 years ago give or take a year. Was this buyout to put them out of business or does Case now make Col Coon knives under their label??? Or did I miss the whole thing entirely...

I am a bit confuzzled here

Colonel Coon Knives or Tennessee Knife Works was founded by Adrain Harris in 1978 in Columbia, Tenn. the knives to the best of my knowledge were truly benchmade knives, his chemical etching process was unique, he started what we know today as commemorative knives by the way he etched blades and packaged the knives in clam shell or flip open boxes and sold them to knife clubs and etc., W.R.Case bought his operation in 1988 and closed the operation and Case does not make any Colonel Coon Knives they were made from 1978-1988, I have attached a couple pics for you, I hope this helps

Remington Collector, I saw those knives on ebay, hang on a day or two and see what they bring, Kevin Pipes just sold one like the second pic I posted for Sunburst and others to look at his was serial # 65 mine is # 28 his brought a little over 400 bucks but these knives are file worked all over inside and out, here's another example of his work
