These are nice. I got 7-8 of them this summer from a friend. He bought some stuff at an auction and among the things he found a bag of these. All the stuff at the auction had been stored in a flooded basement. The knives were all covered in rust, and some had cracked scales. However, I think there were at least two of them that seemed intact but I wasn't able to open any of them due to the rust in the channel and on the blades. I put them in a bag with DW-40. Will try later on to see if I can rescue any of them. I wish they all would have been like yours...

Looks good for those who dont know, those were WWII issue knives, Pal Camillus & others also made them. Unlike yours, many seem to have been abused, like so many other WWII knives. Yours looks like it has nickel silver bolsters and brass pins, which would probably make it an early production one before those metals were conserved and steel was used.

patience is very important--dont rush um--let them soak then soak ome more///.../.,not that i would know anything about getting in to big of a hurry or nothing great looking knife johnnie now is that rogers bone on it..

Great looking easy open Johnnie! It looks so much like a PAL Blade Co. that I have. I love those knives!

You fellas seem to take such pride in your used and worn knives, why don't you start a thread for your most used and worn, victims of blade loss, survivors.
I remember seeing an old one on the forum, probably from the depression era when even a new penknife was unaffordable, with the blade worn down to tooth pick size.
I thought it looked magnificent.

I have a few myself.
As well as some that were not made on government contract.
