i posted this before but......this is where it belongs. this was for my better half. for her desk. and my cane. the rattler is wrapped all the way down the shaft.

hey don, i carved that cane in 1995 but it's not poplar...

i think it was pecan.

My grandfather used a cane he had whittled himself. I don't know what it was made of, but I remember it looked something like this one, which is made of juniper. Not made by me. It is sold from a website by the maker…

Looks like the new forum is up and running good. Great looking carvings here already. Johnnie if that pecan was dried it had to be a hard piece of wood, good job there man. Keep it up.
