All About Pocket Knives

P.A Weck stamped on the front tang, some kind of insignia stamped on the back tang but it is worn. Very high quality almost custom looks like sheffield influence. Milled liner edges buffalo horn handles and spun pins. Any ideas? I came up empty on all my searches. Very large pen knives about 4 1/8" closed

hey kaleb, found a reference to edward weck, maker of surgical knives. connected?

There seem to be some reference to Patent number 1603914....the years 1904 and 1926 keep coming up also. Sorry i couldn't help more.

I saw alot of the surgical stuff too, but that seems to be much more recent.

I am as intereseted as you now. I will keep my eyes open.

When I first looked at that knife...I knew I liked it.....but the one thing I questioned in my mind was why do I like it if it is English....for some reason I am not fond of English pen Knives.

I don't know if this is on the wrong track...but there was a E Weck & Sons New York 1893-1943.....made some very cool razors some called Corn razors. Also I noted a Switchblade that they had made by schrade undercontract I think in the 1920's.

hey p&t, are you talking about the item # 2887 inked on the corn razor? with my old eyes i could'nt see an insignia. i think that is the edward weck i found.

You have to look at the back side to see the squiggily insignia.

What a ponder though I did notice...is there any relation between E Weck and sons from 1893-1943 with the razors and Edward Weck and Company...circa like 1987 and the medical equipement.
