A customer of mine brought this knife in toady and was wanting to know about when it was made. I couldn't get a good picture of the tang, but all I could find on it was ,,,, Schrade CUTCO Made in NY. Thanks for any info. Allan

Pre-1943, with that marking. All steel (steel liners?) might make it war-time. It could go back to 1919 though!!
I hope some fool doesn't buff the crap out of it!!
I'd give $50 if it works well, and $2.50 if it gets buffed!!

Thanks Unnorth, I don't what he plans to do with the knife, although he did mention working it into a trade.

I did advise him not to buff it.

Looking in the catalog from 1926, it looks like maybe the 8823 a 4' serpentine stockman, possibly smoked pearl celluloid? Anyone else got a guess? Thanks for showing it.

Thanks Thawk for the info and link. I can't get my stupid computer to open the file.

I'll have to wait until I get to my other computer. Allan
