All About Pocket Knives

I just picked up this beauty. What a find. Its a NEVER sharpened, 4 blade mother of pearl. No cracks, all the blades are stamped "Garland Cutlery Co. Germany" all blades have long pull.

What is this worth, I dont know...thats why its posted here.

Hi. does it have M Klass stamped somewhere? Looks like stainless steel guessing c1930. Don't know the value but very nice knife.

No M Klass anywhere, just checked.

Goins says that Klass was the importer for Garland in the States. Maybe not originally an US import then That's all I have. s-k

Fella just emailed me and said that this knife was made between 1913-1927

Goins has Garland Cutlery Co Germany dated 1913-1940. A name associated with Max Klaas who was an importer in NY. Sorry, that's all I can find. s-k

I just came across this same exact knife today! Not in as beautiful, shiny condition as the one above - or yet atleast
I pulled it out of a chest that belonged to my great grandfather. It was his WWI chest, so everything in their is old and pretty damn cool!

I've searched the interweb HIGH and low for information on this little pocket knife and can't find anything anywhere.... This thread was the closest thing I could find in regards to this pocket knife.

I know it's a 4 year old thread, but no one has answered the original poster's question: value. I'm assuming it's 1913 to something.... and an American company?!

Hickory, I have an identical knife to the one in the picture only its stamped "Merrimac" over "Germany". I bought it from one of the aapk stores and if I remember correctly they were only in business for 1939. Wish I could post a picture for you but to be honest I dont know flip about computers and cant figure them out Hope that little bit of info is good for something.

I believe that was the corect assessment. As to the value I am not sure, I collect the two blade ones.

my guess would be anywhere from $ 30 - to $ 100.00

I just grabbed a split back spring whittler on the Bay. Also in pearl also mint, for $23.00
I'm a happy camper.
