All About Pocket Knives

I recently picked up this Queen three blade. The only blade tang that is stamped; is the master with Queen USA. I know that Queen used about 20 different stamps. Does anyone have any idea; when this knife may have been made?

I guess that I need to invest; in some good knife books, to do research on different makes. I used to have several; but only recently started collecting again. The only books that I have is an old Parker third edition; for Case and KA-BAR and a Parker volume 8 price guide. Any suggestions on which books to get? Thanks.

i believe queen started using tha stamp around 1984.

books? any of sargents, richie/stewart, price, levines and others.

jonnie, I had the Levines and Sargents years ago. Are there newer edition's to these; or will I be looking for older books? Thanks.

older books, unfortunatly, and they can be pricey. watch amazom.com for used books. i have found several titles there for fair prices. some tirles can be obtained through knifeworld publications.

That 3rd edition of Parkers is invaluable for a Bulldog collector - the one with color pictures I believe. In that book is the pictures of the real stag knives vs the current book which has pictures of the cobbled knives I believe the term was coined. At some point the pictures of the real knives were taken out of the books and the cobbled knives inserted. Plus the pictures of different celluloids with the names of each has been a real good resource.

Vol. 3 has the pictures of the real knives and it can help sort out the junk.

You can buy book online Directley from David, My came autographed by author & included a bookmark made from a knife-pick produced by Queen Cutlery & ribbon from the Ribbon Factory. Both Queen Cutlery and the Ribbon Factory are located in the original building that was built in Titusville in 1897, these two companies still share different sections of the same factory building.

I met David at the Queen show in Titusville last year. He is a very nice and knowledgeable person. In fact I bought a series I, 1991 2 blade trapper that is pictured in his book from David.
As jonet143 stated your tang stamp Strating in 1984 and is dated after 1990 & used until 1997.
