All About Pocket Knives

I am down in Southern Indiana this week on work and planned to stop at Cosner's gun shop after work.......that was well worth the trip!!!!!!...But it also just happened that three houses down from the plastics plant I went to work at had a Case dealer too. First knife I noticed was a Schrade 708 pen knife..........I bought a few other knives too.....but the dealer..kept saying that is a really good price for that knife.......I think he forgot about it, and was kicking himself for not re-pricing it!

I can't stop looking at it.....If anyone wants to see it I will take pictures when I get home....................I don't know........maybe everyone has one..for all I know. Very well made knife.

I had a used and abused (run over) 708 S-W as 1 of 3 EDCs
until I lost or misplaced it about a yr ago. Small enough to be
unnoticed in the pocket but big enough for 92.76148% of any knife chores that came up.
When it began to look like it's gone 4ever, I kept an eye out for a replacement and finally got a 708B (black). I prefer the older one's long pull instead of the newer crescent, but like they say:
"choosers can't be beggy".
As to your question of whether stock knives vs UH, I would say it depends on which pattern you find as well as condition condition condition. If in doubt, grab up all of each you can and sort out the facts later.

When I began collecting Schrade knives, the Uncle Henry patterns were the ones I collected first. After awhile though, I started seeing the "Open Stock" knives, I could not resist, some are real eye poppers, there is much more pattern selection and handle styles, just a lot of nice older Schrades. I still like Uncle Henry's, but the older Schrades became much more appealing to me.



Some Open Stock Schrades. You'll be glad you picked up the 708. Can't stop at just one. The quality is every bit the same as the Old Timers and Uncle Henry knives.

Now I think I am hooked on Schrade...it all started when I bought some pre-WWII Imperials, and Mike I promise to take a picture when I get my knife.......I don't trust the baggage handlers lately so I sent the knives I bought in Indiana Fed Ex Ground and don't have them yet. Will send pics when I get it.

And Wosey...I did check mine does have the long pull! It is just a simple knife but one of those ones that you can't take your eyes off.

I really really like the two Jack knives in that picture........and I think the 4th one is a small trapper....(Besides the Stockman's and Pen's).......my Pen knife has the same shield as the Jack Knives.

The two jacks, a 218 and 219. The white composite handled one is older. The "trapper" is a 272, basically trapper frame and jack blades. Schrades "peanut". I agree, they look better with the long pull.

Cosner's there in Bedford? I headed through there next Saturday.

Yes Bedford.................but be careful mapquest did not have the location right.........I stopped for directions....and everyone wanted me to take them with me!
