All About Pocket Knives

Hello to all!

I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. My daughters 16 year old boyfriend collects pocket knives. She would like to buy him one for his birthday but we are clueless. We are willing to spend between $40-60 and would like something somewhat unique as we have no idea what he already has. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

I highly reccomend any of the great eastern cutlery knives, especially the northfield and tidioute lines that are 1095 carbon steel, that way if he decides to use it. That 1095 takes a killer edge.

and point the feller here to the forum, not alot of young people into collecting.

Many great suggestions here. Getting any of them would sure make me happy!
But your daughter has probably seen at least some of his collection and she should have an idea of what kind of knives he likes. Being a young man he may prefer more modern looking “tactical” folders..?
On the other hand, a knife from his girlfriend should be very special to him and giving him a more traditional pattern pocket knife may open his eyes to the beauty and proven practicality of the classics.
