All About Pocket Knives

hey heres what i call a "hammer brand" knife before mperial took over. i like my imperials hammer knives.i have a bunch.

postman brought it to me a few days ago.

i have posted before being new how do you tell the difference between fake and real mop.
the difference is obvious. zorro said you can just tell once you see the 2 next to each other.

zorro you were right.huge difference. heres the knife... some blade loss..ill clean it a little..tiny bit of sharpening..besides that another nice old usa knife! hope pics do pearl justice ..its really a beauty in your hand. for awhile its gonna be my shirt pocket knife.

gotta love that HAMMER brand tang stamp!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have lots of hammers and thats probably my cleanest tang stamp

Sorry only works on old mop .... lol

Nice NYK Peter. One way to tell mop is to rub it on a tooth. Real mop will feel rough,plastic will be smooth. This must be a natural tooth,the store bought ones won't work. Go to many knife shows,look,ask questions,and listen well. after a while real mop will stand out like a silver quarter in a hand full of change. Hope this helps.

Really nice. So it is real MOP? I have a Hammer Brand. There's a story behind it. It's supposed to be very old. I will try to find it and take a photo of it. It is very large and has dark brown jigged ? scales or handles. It is well used but not worn out or abused. I cannot remember where it is at the moment tho.
