Champagne Nippers

These were used to cut the wire cage holding champagne corks. This example was made by Thomas Turner & co Sheffield circa late 1800s. It also has a brush for dusting the bottle from the cellar.

you are correct Johnnie.
This must be a delux 'professional version'. Along with the snippers and the brush, it has a cork gripper and a serrated end for cutting wax/foil.

Unfortunately, this one is unmarked. A number of companies made this type of tool so don't know who made it

I can't help with the company, but those are some interesting tools, one certainly doesn't encounter such things too often, thanks for showing.

Thanks to all for your interest. Some smaller pocket nippers. These were common promo items circa late 1800s -early 1900s.. The middle one doubles as a cigar cutter.

Very unusual too.
I have a bunch of cigar cutters.
I am going to do an article for the club news letter on then when I get around to it.
When I do I will post some pics.

S-K just so you know, I very much enjoy seeing the unusual items you have posted. It helps me learn and that is always a good thing. Thank you for sharing your most interesting collection with us here.
