Old Excelsior knife

I traded for this old Excelsior Knife Co. knife just the other day. It is
well worn, has a patch in the handle on the mark side from the left
end to just past the shield and the pen blade has been sharpened down
alot. I traded a nice Keen Kutter stockman. I like the Excelsior it is my only
one. When I do see them for sale they are even more worn than this one
and very pricey. The old stuff is what I like.

A nice old knife!
The pen blade sharpened down so much, but the master blade in comparison looks hardly worn at all...
Do you think the pen blade may have been reshaped?

jonet143, I don't know if it is post northfield (1884) The tang stamp is curved Excelsior over
straight Knife Co. on both blades. If anyone could help on the date please do so.
Froggyedge I think the pen blade has just been used. Thanks for your interest.

Here is one that I have tangs are better than they look due to reflection blades are original and quite shiney. Cell is not cracked as it may appear it is part of the pattern on this tipper. LT PS 1880, 1884. on both.

lt thanks for the info. I would like to have more Excelsiors will get them as time goes along if possible. The old stuff is fun.
