Another Boker Date question

I have some knives stuck back that I haven’t looked at in awhile, including this 9471 Jumbo Jack. Boker USA
The little cards I stick in the pockets that hold info for them I put a note pre tree knife. Somebody else gave me the info and said partly due to the shield made him think that. The old guy is smooth as silk, walks n talks as good as any, bone scales
And while not perfect it’s in good vintage shape. My opinion.
Anyone have any idea about the date range? Anything would help. Thanks. Ed

That's Boker's last mark in the US, 1945-1983, I would guess it's probably on the older end of that range. Have you looked under "Tang Stamp Charts" on the Knife Q & A page here? Lots of good info there when you scroll around. Good luck, J.O'.

Just a comment on Boker knives in general. As I've been selling my collection off, I'm somewhat surprised that the Bokers don't draw the attention that other brands do. Like the knife in the OP, many of them are good-looking, well built knives that , in my humble opinion, are as good or better than many other brands. I'm finding the same situation with L.F. & C., Empire, and other fine American brands. My mom used to say, "There's no accounting for taste". Guess she was right. ::shrug:: ,Like to hear some other opinions. J.O'.
