First I would like to start by saying, I have purchased a couple knives from this guy and every listing Ive seen from him appears legit to me so I dont think he is out to screw anyone over. It seems he is selling off a collection of vintage knives inherited from his grandfather.
This one however appears altered. The tang is a good example of a shaved tang. The shield is a later flat āsā shield. The pattern number has been heavily buffed but appears to me to be 3318HP when this knife has a pen blade making it a 3318HE. The sheepsfoot also looks like a later sheepsfoot shape to me. The xx era knives I have dont have such a sharp, nearly 90 degree downturn on the sheepsfoot. My later 70s 6318s tend to have this more, in my experience.
I messaged the seller explaining this and asking for better pictures but have gotten no response yet.
I am not trying to blast this seller, I think its just a genuine lack of knowledge on his end. Just sharing here as this seems like a good example of an altered knife.
