All About Pocket Knives

Hemmed and hawed about buying this knife off TripleF on here. Went in first of the week to buy it and it was gone. So i emailedTripleF and he said is was listed on eBay, he’d gotten a bid, so he removed it from here. Won it in eBay and spent my Friday night tuning it. It had blade rub on Sheepsfoot/Spey blades. So i adjust the angle slightly of both blades and noticed the main blade did t follow the liner in the middle. Didn't really have to adjust that one and it sits true in center of the blade well. So after i got the rub removed from blades, i cleaned springs, bladewell and decided to clean up the exterior, but leave the beautiful 30 year old patina on the blades. Wet sanded exterior of knife from 1,000- 4,000 grit, then 8,000&15,000, as thats what i had for sandpaper. First 3 photos was from listing, last photos are after tune up. Filed the Sheepsfoot kick as well, to lower nail nick to top of Spey blade. All 3 blades have great snap again.

Nice save. It will serve you well! I carried one just like it for about 30 years. Well actually two just like it. Got the first one in 1971. About 20 years of hard use later, I lost it, so replaced it with a new one. Then found the first one, but decided to just “retire” it. Still have them both - great EDC knives.

This on was a lot of fun and not much effort really. This one in the ads really caught my eye, and I guess I had to have it. Big thanks to TripleF for following through with me and letting me know it wasn’t gone, it just needed to be found in a different spot.

Great resto! I saw it also and thought hmmmmmm, but since I just picked up like 50 beaters in an estate auction I passed on it.

Thank you, this one was a blast. Not much really to do to it, just a little tic, elbow grease amd some oil…
Took all of a couple hours.

It is hard to beat the feeling of owning and using a knife like that!

I’m quite thankful that I was able to obtain this little beauty and especially the backstory of getting off a great member on here.
But, after I got the blades krinked properly, decided to leave the patina and make the rest of new again, I’ve decided to keep it in the collection.
Sounds foolish I’m sure, but surprisingly, this one has a little sentimental value, given how it came to be in my collection, etc.
Plus I’ve always been a sucker for yellow handles on a slip joint…
