Looking at some items for sale in the AAPK store I came across this listing that has illuminated a previously unknow fact of WWII history for me.
I've spent over 30 years studying the history of WWII and building up a small collection of WWII weapons, tools, patches and medals, etc... etc... I have an extensive library on WWII and at one time I had over 1000 WWII history books stacked in every corner of my house. However, I am by no means an expert in any measure on WWII.
One thing that reinforces that statement, is the fact that I did not know that
the USA military was actually procuring and using Japanese made bayonets ... I thought that the US-Japan trade relations had somewhat "soured" by the time the US entered into WWII.....
You learn something everyday....
From the AAPK listing:
US M8AI VP CO Kiffs Japan Vintage Bayonet with Scabbard Stacked Leather Handle
The US M8A1 VP CO Kiffs Japan Vintage Bayonet with Scabbard is an original piece from World War II, featuring a stacked leather handle for added grip and control. This militaria collectible is a genuine piece of United States history, with its origins dating back to the World War II era.
The M8A1 brand adds authenticity to this vintage bayonet, making it a sought-after item for collectors of military memorabilia.

Must be AI... ...

Just ask AI to show you images/pictures of "Medieval French Kings"....

I used to think that were actually European guys....

... I've learned that is not true either ...

I was on Ace Hardwares website this morning to see what sizes of tiny brass rods and tubing they had. You know the ones, 1/8 inch OD tubing used for hobby and building small things. Their AI description on the webpage said it was perfect for plumbing, HVAC, and automotive uses.
