Looking for Information on This Knife

Anyone know where this knife was made and who the maker is?

Only marks are JM and ATS 34.

It's lightweight for the size and very sharp seems like a decent knife ::hmm::

The maker is Jim Matthes. Another knife of his below with similar styling. He lived and worked out of San Diego county (Santee), California. I don't know if he's still alive, but I know that he retired from knifemaking and sold his equipment many years ago.

Thanks for the information!

I had no idea who made it but it was much better quality than you normally see. I looked into the maker and found this information on him on another forum:
So I have been in touch with an older knifemaker located in Santee, California. He is having to sell all of his equipment due to health reasons.
I am not making any money on these items, I just want to help another maker out!

He is best reached by phone as he has bad eyesight and can't answer emails easily.
