All About Pocket Knives

In AAPK store an empty box for sale for over $163 plus shipping.
Am I missing something????? Item# 130400.

The guy must be a Nutcase.

I remember when I got my Camillus Cub Scout knife in 1964 for Christmas. I open in the box put the knife in my pocket and the box went the same route as the Christmas wrapping that covered it. I never was a box collector, but understand the value associated with them

Tom: Do you still have the knife? I wish I would have kept mementos like that thru the years. I guess I was just a kid and didnt realize what I know now though.

yup, I’ll dig out a picture later today, I’m off to take my wife for her six-week post-operative visit with her surgeon who replaced her right knee.

Authentic Case Tested era boxes often go for high prices, usually the more desirable the pattern, the higher the price for an intact box.

Agree. You might be surprised what collectors will pay for authentic ephemera, especially from brands they collect. Just as with the knives themselves, the better the condition, the higher the price. I think the seller has done himself a disservice by describing it as “Case Classic”. Looks like the real deal from Case Tested era, not associated with the Case Classics products.

I have empty box that the knife was stolen out of when my house was robbed.... I found the box away from my house and the knife was long gone ... ... I'll take $10.00 if someone is looking for a more affordable empty Case box. Same deal, an empty box.... just a whole lot cheaper.....

I just recently gave away a 40 gal. trash bag stuffed full of empty knife boxes of different brands.
I understand some collectors like to have original boxes. That was the reason I had kept them.
But, since I have no plans to sell the knives, I got rid of the boxes. Not enough storage space for boxes too.

Having said that, I do enjoy looking at the old boxes with the fancy artwork that get posted on AAPK.
Maybe if I had unlimited display space I would be hunting for old boxes also. If I could get them for what I consider a "good price". If I'm going to spend over a hundred dollars, I'm buying a knife not a box.

Collect what makes you happy My opinion should mean nothing
