I got this today, it is unbranded and unfinished. It is missing a pin on the scales so, I think ot was a reject. Has anybody seen this shape before?

Did you get that off ebay? I ask because it looks a lot like the first knife pictured below (sold on ebay recently).

I took a hard look around the internet for information on that model, but all I found were a few other examples. These pics are all I have to offer, maybe someone else will know something. There was no brand or model information provided with these pics.

Considering the variations with the pins, I'm guessing quality control was lacking at that particular Seki factory. Odd really, as Seki knives tend to be of good quality. But I imagine the handles are glued on, so the lack of pins likely won't be an issue.

Ebay knife. Two pins each side, one handle and the center rocker pin.

Here's another. Two pins on one side, three pins on the other.

And here's a third. Three pins on each side. Someone added a clamp-on thumb stud.

I did get it from ebay. It's the fist picture, and it was a mess. I did spread the scales and use epoxy, also the scales were not finished to the liners. The spine had to be ground to be flush with the blade. It's looking good now, thew it in the knife draw but it was a fun project for$20.

I sent an email to G Sakai to see if they recognize the shape. No word yet!

Thanks for the input folks
