All About Pocket Knives

Ok I tried a little different approach with a sheath. I made this up as a boot sheath. In my mind a cowboy boot. Drawing from the inlay work seen on some high end custom boots I made this attempt. It.was a fun build and I learned a lot. The inlay is chrome.tan leathers I believe all is deer but the black im not sure. Had it In my scrap bin and it suited what I needed. I cut out the heron first then stitched the blue and white leather together and glued to the black. Then I placed that as an inlay onto the wicket and Craig brown skirting leather. Then I stitched around the outside. After that I did the gold stitching around the heron followed by the green for the grass. Lastly I did the liner leather in blue deerskin and glued and stitched the sheath together.

Granted the way it's designed the clip would be outside the boot or pocket so the heron is hidden. But so be it.

Knife is mine as well made it up a while back and finally made the sheath

Great sheath, the boot carry was always my favorite when I wore a pair of Dingos back in the 1970s. How many people remember Dingo boots?

Thank you sir. Also personally never heard of dingo boots!

The Dingo harness boot was the high fashion item of the 1970s. A pair of bell bottom jeans was alway worn with the Dingos. Now I am dating myself here. lol I had a Case boot knife clipped inside one at all times. Your knife and sheath would have rode nicely there.

All of my sheaths have been utilitarian. I would enjoy working up to one that is also pleasing to look at, as you have done. You obviously have patience and skill!
