Empire Winsted CT

This beautiful old Empire was very generously given to me from PA Knives. It's an Empire 1856-1930 barehead jack.
My father was was from Connecticut and I have still have a bunch of family in Connecticut, so this knife is really special to me. I took the knife apart and cleaned it and repinned it, for being over 100 yrs old, it has incredibly strong springs.
Now I'll excuse myself, I have to go whittle some nutmegs.

This fella is talented. What a nice job he did Im not easily impressed. if you have a knife in need of an upgrade you found your guy

AB: If you're interested in a piece or two of ephemera to frame to keep your knife company, you might check these out--invoices/purchase orders from 1927 & 1928 with the Empire Knife Company letterhead. (I have no connection to the seller).

Yes! I was bored the other night and surfed through 55 pages of listings under his Lamson Goodnow (who made tableware/kitchenware) category. There's some old letterheads from the 1920s-1940s in there--Simmons/Keen Kutter, Ontario Knife, Boker USA (Duane St. NYC HQ), Western States, among others.
