All About Pocket Knives

Picked up this 1972 stockman, 3 3/8 in closed. Apparently this stamp was only used in. 1972. Does that make this a rare knife? In any event it is a nice little knife, looks unused. Seems strange that it would only be used for one year, was 1922 the year that this model was introduced?

Just a guess, celebrating the 50 year anniversary of the Queen Cutlery Company being formed by former employees of Schatt and Morgan Cutlery. Seems like there were some bad feelings back in the day when this happened. There is no mention in the Queen 1972 catalogue of this dated stamp. There are several years with a definite date stamped giving the year of manufacture. Lots of the stamps cover several year stretches.

Thanks for your reply treefarmer. This 1972 Queen Stockman is well made and I feel that it is similar to Case or Western or PaL in terms of quality and this one was lightly used. Glad to have it.
