All About Pocket Knives

I think these knives became popular with trappers Buffalo hunters mountain men, and Native Americans around 1840. My question is did the Russell Green River Company. Make any knives with 6 pin handles? I’ve seen 5 pin and 3 pin. If anyone has a 6 pin I’d sure like to see a picture of it.

No other Russell knife fans on here? I’m a little surprised.

I have purchased several Russell Green River knife blanks from Jantz Supply. They are good carbon steel blades and when coupled with a serviceable handle make very good knives.

Read about them in history but don't have one old or new.

They are “high cotton” knives. Had a pre-First World War, Nogent-style Green River chef’s knife in my chef’s knife collection that one collector reminded me every time I saw him that he would buy it from me.
It was passed down in my family to an appreciative nephew.

I have this Russell tobacco knife and a corn topper (no pic, knife is in a store with others I'm selling.) and a couple old Barlows. All for sale. J.O'.
