All About Pocket Knives

I just came into a lot of knives via death in the family... I'm really enjoying them and researching the ones I'd never heard of... I'm having trouble learning much about my Napanoch.. I'm pretty sure mine is from year 1907 but outside of that I have no idea of a value on it and I'm seeking help with that.. also I need help finding a place where I can buy badges

Hi, for good info you would need to learn to post photos of what you have. As far as badges, if you mean the shields that go on knife handles, there is no place to buy them for vintage knives. Some companies still in business still have and may sell or do the repairs but for most out of business old companies you need a donor knife or sometimes people take apart junkers and sell the parts.

While Napanoch is a brand well known and respected among knife collectors, knife values are largely dependent on condition. Searching auction sites like eBay, for completed sales only, of similar items is typically the best source for current values. You may or may not find comparable sales of the exact same knife, but similar knives from the same company, relatively same time period, etc will usually get you in the ballpark for value. Gunsil has given you good advice regarding your question about replacement shields. On old knives whose makers are no longer in business, parts from a donor knife are usually the best, if not the only option. Don’t be surprised if you don’t receive an instant reply - I’ve been searching years for some blades for a rare old Robeson knife. Some day patience may work!
