My brother Dan has Erdheim-Chester Disease, a rare form of blood cancer. This evening he called to update me on his condition. Initially the cancer was not perceived to be very aggressive, and with treatment his life expectancy was 10 years, without treatment 3 to 6 years. Recent test have changed that. The test show the cancer has metastasized to his brain and is affecting his balance, his vision and his voice.
He had stopped taking his chemo because of the severe side effects. The doctor says without chemo he may have 6 months to live, if his body can tolerate the chemo at this time he could live a year or two longer.
My brother's name is Dan, he's 66 and he is a Believer, as is his wife Sharon. They have three adult children, with families of their own. Please keep them all in your prayers as they come to grips with this new trial. Please pray for healing, peace and the renewing of God's presence on the family.
