All About Pocket Knives

Hi everybody I got this camillus medal about at least 20+years ago and would like your opinions on how to getting it too like like it did back than.It pretty much looked new.I just found it in my basement and would like to get it as clean as I can. Don't know what it's made of Brass?Copper? I don't know I tried simichrome didn't help so I'm looking for suggestions. Thanks for your time

Try Brasso. Based on what appears to be verdigris patina, my guess is the medal is brass or copper. It can be removed but with time and exposure to air it will eventually return.

I'd try Brasso ------- and a toothbrush.

You might want to check with a coin collecting forum. Although, for the most part, they recommend against cleaning coins at all; but somebody might have an idea for you.

My "guess" is the copper turned green but the brass didn't. The green on copper is a natural protective oxident, I wouldn't touch it. Just my 2 cents.
