Fighting Rooster - swirly Stockman

Traded for this at a knife show. It's my first foray into Fighting Rooster knives - without question, the hardest snapping stockman I've ever owned (usually 1 or if you're lucky 2 blades on stockman's snap hard, this one is all 3). Nice fit and finish ... great shape for 40+ year old knife. I don't think it's celluloid ... there's no shrinkage or outgassing signs - if I had to guess, its likely acrylic. Who knew ... there is life outside of Case

I really think it would be celluloid just based off the others I’ve seen. That said, some of them just don’t fail or outgas. I have several in bone, buffalo or pearl and they are top notch. I really like mine.

That is a good looking knife. I really like Fight'n Rooster: I have a half dozen, not a lot. They do mostly have good snap and open very smoothly.
I think that Wade might be right about the handle being celluloid. I have a couple of Roosters with cell handles that show no sign of gassing. So I guess sometimes we get lucky.

Hey Mel - yeah, I think you guys are right ... based on the time frame as well (1984), most likely would be celluloid - maybe it'll hold up

Fight'N Rooster had some of the prettiest cell. Some aren't as volatile as others, not sure why?

But yours is gorgeous.
