A couple of beauties there. Here's a CROWN CUT. NY, "Tear drop" E.O. with hard rubber handles, iron liners and bolsters, and both 1/2 stops. According to Levine, Crown was an importer/wholesaler of German and Austrian knives but had them made here during WWI. Maybe they were contracted but by whom?? Anybody know? J.O'.

I don't know who made all of them, but that jack that Joe posted has nice bone handles they remind me of Cattaraugus bone.

I've had this stag Jack for awhile but can't find any concrete info on Crown Cutlery Co., Sheffield. It has what B.L. calls clean and square (I think?) blade tangs at the bolster.

Nice knife.
I like that when the tangs come to the top of the bolster. Good design.

I have very few like that.

Thanks, Joe. It appears to be pretty old. Do you think it was a precursor to the New York company?

I don't know. Are you thinking of New York Knife, Walden? Goin's doesn't show a Crown Cutlery Sheffield for any reference.
Other books may of course.
I love that bolster on that knife though. That looks old.

Nice piece, wish I had information to provide on the Sheffield stamp but definitely unique and I love unique!

That's a amazing piece there, congratulations!

Some people are asking on who made for Crown Cutlery and I happen to see some were made by Schatt & Morgan and the one posted on here appears to look Robeson made to me. No telling on how many companies contracted in making for Crown Cutlery.

Thanks for the kind words fellers, I picked up that old Crown several years ago at a little hometown flea market, I'd never heard of them but it was cheap and had pretty handles and the blades were in pretty good shape, so I jumped on it, I posted it on here somewhere looking for info and the consensus was Crown didn't make knives, so I figured it was made by Camillus or Schrade or one of the many others. It sure is a stout little devil.

John , was your knife rehandled ? It's not hafted at the bolster.

Mine was made in NY, USA most likely by Utica. Both blades stamped such.
