Help with identifying a blade on a KUTMASTER knife.

I recently acquired a KUTMASTER pocket knife in a group of knives.
There is a collector who I buy from regularly who finds old knives and cleans them up. This KUTMASTER was in the last group of knives that I bought from him.
I have found similar knives on line. Most of them have 4 functions. This knife has only 3 (no awl).
In a book on pocket knives by Bernard Levine there is a very similar 4 function knife that was made for the Medical Department of the U.S. Navy.
This knife has a long bale which supports the military use.
The small curved blade has me puzzled. I have not been able to find anything that tells me what the curved blade is called and what it is used for.
I am quite certain that the wealth of knowledge on this forum will have an answer. ?????
