Back in the saddle

Well, I finally got back to the workbench this past week...I had cubital tunnel syndrome, where the ulnar nerve was impinged in my right arm. It started with tingling, and then weakness in my hand toward the end of 2024. Had surgery over a year ago, and the doc told me it could be a year and a half before it was normal again--if it ever got back to "normal".

It's not all the way back, but back enough I've been able to play music again for a while, and now to work with tools. it's still not as good as it was, but I was able to re-handle this little guy. It was a two-blade, with one broken, so I decided to just make it into a single blade knife. Neither blade had any marking on it, so I don't know who made it. I know I "should" have gone to the hardware store to find a nail to use as pivot material, but I was too lazy, and had the right diameter of nickel stock, so that's what I used. The material is a dyed, stabilized wood (I bought it long enough ago that I have forgotten where I got it).

Anyway, I'm glad to have the chance to do this much again...

Glad your back doing what you love Brent.....I'm sure it was a long journey but I'm genuinely glad you have rekindled your love of music and knife repair. ::tu::

Nice job Brent! ::tu::
I'm glad you are back at the workbench! ::nod::

I know how frustrating it is to not be able to go to the shop to relax and work on a project.
I'm scheduled for surgery to replace my right shoulder joint in May, to hopefully fix the mess they made of it last year.
I can't do a great deal right now, but I am trying to get my shop cleaned up so I have more room.
I'm hoping to sell a bunch of knives next week at the OKCA show to give me a bit more room.

Congratulations on getting back into the shop and of the nice save!
