All About Pocket Knives

I just found this knife in storage that hadn't been cleaned out for probably 30 years. Anybody know anything about it or any help on value? I think the turquoise and bone inlay was from the factory and not aftermarket. I've searched and can't find any documentation of a factory turquoise variant of the Big Lou but has anybody seen this before?

For whatever reason Parker knives don’t typically have high collector value. The best source for value is usually an advanced search of eBay, for sold listings only, of the item. Limiting the search to sold listings will show only items that have sold, the sale date and actual price realized. I tend to doubt the turquoise is factory done. Most times if a parker knife had extra embellishments there would also be some added etching on the blade or special touches to the bolsters. Parker knives were and are a great value considering the current influx of knives from other countries that may not be of the best quality. Your knife pretty much "is what it is" unless you can find some documentation that says otherwise. It is a very handsome knife and the turquoise definitely make it stand out and is quite special.

I'm a fan of Parker Cut-Co's ... never heard of the Big Lou - like it !!

The Big Lou was a very close copy of the Schrade LB7. They were very built, solid knives.

Here is an old catalog cut showing the Big Lou. Can't remember what these wholesaled for at the time but they were way less than the LB7 and decent competition at the price point. Want to say they were a lot closer to $10 than $20 wholesale. I bought and sold quite a few of them with smooth bone handles in the early 80's.

I got this one in a pretty Bone has a unique lock push down on second blade to unlock.
