All About Pocket Knives

Sorry I've been quiet for such a long time now, but I've had a ton of stuff happen in my life, that I just didn't have the focus to keep posting constantly.

Well, I got some news to share that I'm still in shock over.

I've been living here in Yorkton, these past 2 years, in a group care home. I've been very very, very ill since I was 7 years old. It progressively got worse over the span of the past 20 years. I'm turning 27 on the 22.

I got hammered so many times in those 2 decades that by the fall of 2024, I pretty much collapsed mentally and physically. I was finished.
The only thing that kept me sane, was Jesus. I was holding onto Him for dear life by that point.

Well, by then, my only option was to move off the farm, and into a home here in town. No other option, something had to give.
I'll cut to the chase.
March first of this year, I shall be leaving the care home, and going into a transition home. I'll be learning home ech. Budgeting. Grocery shopping. Ect. Ect.

You see, in those 2 years I've been here, I've gone from Level 5 care, to about a 1 to 2. All my illnesses are fully treated, and I'm stable.
What's even crazier, my nurses and social workers have never seen a person recover to such a degree, that I can be fully independent. It literally is not supposed to happen, they keep telling me.
I'm a miracle case guys.

My guys at church are just, in utter amazement too.

I feel good, my mind is calm, my thinking is clear, the fog has lifted, my body is back to full heath (just a bit of a pot belly still hanging on).

Dale, I don't understand why, with everything that I carry, I'm still sane. I just don't understand.
But what I do know is,
All your prayers and support guys, over the years, have turned my Lords grace upon me and my family, and we have peace.
God is mighty good, Isn't he.

Praise God for your report. Keep trusting in Jesus as you feel more independent. None of us can walk this world and keep what's important first in our lives without constant help and direction from God and when we get confident in our own abilities, we mess it up. I've had a lot of experience at doing that over my 78 years, but God has always been faithful to bring me back in when I wander. May God continue to bless you.____Dave

Awesome report. GOD is good & faithful. I have a somewhat rare brain disorder that has absolutely whooped me for the last 34 years. I woke up on my 23rd birthday with a headache (just so happens that was the year I got married too, just saying), 34 years, multiple head surgeries and other things & I still have the headache and neurological issues. I’m 57 now and have to keep reminding myself that CHRIST is sufficient in all things. Not quite sure why I shared all this but oh well. Btw yes she’s still my wife and I don’t know why.

When I read the Psalms, everything is of the Lord. Like it is said in Romans 9, I am just a clay vessel in the hands of the potter.

Y'know, they keep telling me that it's because of all the hard work I put in.

Yes, I've put in the work that I needed to do.
But all of us understand, most clearly, that it is all of the Lord, and the inner workings of His will, that bring us hope, peace, and joy.

I guess my takeaway in all of this is, Faith and Hope is an incredibly powerful thing.
Hope in the living God, for He is grace to us, a lamp to our feet.

Well boys, it's official.
The papers are signed,
My settle in date to Chris and Brandi's is March the 2nd.

I'm forever grateful for all the love and support Alvin and Loretta have shown me this past 2 years. We're all just like a big family, I will miss living here greatly.

But, arriving here pretty much a human vegetable, and leaving fully functional, is a miracle in itself.

It's a miracle I got diagnosed and started treatment for my main brain disorder so early. Standard rate is 10 years.
And Dale, you're not going to believe this. Getting my fibro treated was a complete, and total accident.
There's a story behind that, it'll be exactly 1 year, minus 2 days, that I was successfully treated for my fibromyalgia.

So, the main goal of this move is, Brandi is going to help me get all the skills under my belt, so that I can live independently, with a lot of supports in place.

And something else is happening in this move, that I can't say it here on the web. But what I'll say now is, the Lord has put me in the position to help 2 people in a big way.

I always asked the Lord over and over again, how can I serve you Jesus?
Well, He's in the process of answering that prayer in 3 different ways.

Guys, this is none of my doing. Always, always, always direct your praise to the Father who sits on the throne, to Lord Jesus, who sits at His right hand, interceding for us.

Why I'm sharing all of this on a forum online, is there's always hope! Never give up, never never never give in. Always keep fighting, don't look inward to the circumstances that are happening around you. When things seem bleak and hopeless, take your eyes off of it all, and fix your gaze on the Savior who redeemed you.
