All About Pocket Knives

I was preparing to make a plain brass shield for this Bear and Son mini Trapper when I discovered that a shield from an Ulster Boy Scout parts knife would fit it. I gifted it to my Dad this morning as a homemade "Scoutmaster's knife".
He was one of our Scoutmasters for Troop 252 back in the 1980's, and even today grown men who used to be in our troop will come up to him in public and shake his hand, or hug him, thanking him for how he helped them.
He deserves more than another cobbled knife, but he knew that it is the thought behind the work that matters, and he seems to treasure it.

They pretty much said it all, but it does bear repeating!

Wonderful work. Very fitting gift too. As a current boy scout leader, my hats off to your dad. I have no doubt he had a positive affect on many lives. He may never know all the good he has done, but rest assured he has....send my thanks to him for his hard work and volunteering.
