All About Pocket Knives

I would like and take suggestions on how to clean this up. Always wanted a Tony Bose for the collection. This is probably gonna be a carry, but if your suggestions and my work can get it cleaned we will see.

Hard to tell much from your picture but I’m surprised to see tarnish on stainless steel. It should clean up. Read through the posts on the subject of cleaning knives here https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kn ... 37&t=54157

In particular the use of a pencil lead, 0000 steel wool, elbow grease and taking it slow and easy.

Almost looks like something corroded the blades, like a chemical. but could just be gunk, I guess. Have you tried denatured alcohol or similar to see if it will cut into that staining?

Depending on what that staining is, I use scotchbrite belts on a bench belt sander to clean up blades like that. Of course, If you don't have experience or those types of tools, I wouldn't just dive right in. It can be done by hand, but you need to go slow as has been said. You also want to follow the grain of the original grind lines. The ones I have, the grind lines run top of blade to bottom, not left to right.

Thanks Glen, I’m a novice at cleaning/restoration. Want to try my hand at it. Worse comes to awful, can always be an edc.
