That’s amazing! Thanks for posting it.
All the more frustrating that about ten years ago I spent a couple of days exploring the Hudson Valley and surrounding area, and found nobody there that knew any of the cutlery history. Didn’t even know cutleries had existed there.

Ken you should have contacted me, I could have showed you the sites where most of them were. At that time many of the building from Walden Knife Co were still standing. Now that a new shopping center has sprouted on the site there's only one left. Aside from that and the old Ulster factory I don't think there are any buildings from those old Hudson Valley cutleries still intact. Sad.

Thanks Eric, I’d like that - maybe next time, if I ever get back in the area. I did contact the late Rich Langston (R.I.P.) hoping to meet up with him, but they had just closed the knife museum after Labor Day. He had some other plans so we couldn’t get together. We did stop by the museum and peeked in the windows, but couldn’t see much.

Cool and interesting map thanks for posting it. Curios that it doesn't show Union or KA-BAR in Olean though.

If you (or anyone here) is out that way during the off season or on a weekday and want to tour the museum just give me a shout, I can meet you there and let you in.
