Snapshot, Hitler Youth (HJ) or German Boy Scout knives?

I was doing some photo scanning and pulled this one out of my collections. Thought I would share as it may be of interest to someone. I've got no dog in the fight as whether it's Scout or HJ. It's just an interesting pic, I think.

It's small @ 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" so it doesn't offer a lot of detail even when enlarged. It's not dated; however, a general time frame may be determined by the fact that the photo was processed/printed in the village of Neuhaldensleben (New Haldensleben) in Saxony, Germany. Neuhaldensleben existed until 1938 when it merged with the village of Alhaldensleben (Old Haldensleben) to form the town of Haldensleben, as it is known today. So, it appears to be 1938 or before.

Thanks for looking,

Chris J.

Thanks, Chris. ::handshake:: Wasn't there a German version of Boy Scouts before the Nazis came along? ::shrug::

Hi John:

I believe you're right, and if I'm not mistaken, I think it was (like other youth organizations) taken over by the Hitler Youth.
