110 Spring Fell Out

How hard is it to reinstall the spring in a Buck 110? Is this a DIY project or a send it back to Buck endeavor?
The knife in question is the red scaled 110 with aluminum bolsters (top right in the photo). The knife is from early 2019 I believe and came directly from Buck, either as a Buck of the Month or a Limited Edition.
I like the looks and weight of the knife, but have not carried it much and it has never even cut anything. I was exercising the knife after applying some lube, and the spring just fell out.
If I send it back to Buck and they decide it is not repairable, will they send it back or just issue a credit and keep the knife (for liability reasons
)? I would want the knife back either repaired or not.
