All About Pocket Knives

Just finished shooting some pics of a variety of swords l own. Still have a few more to dig out and will post those later.
The Civil War one is by Emerson & Silver dated 1860. The model 1840 is by Horstman. The horn handled one with the gold inlays is l believe from Mindinao in the Philippines. The golang with the pearl inlays on the scabbard is the largest of its kind l have ever seen. The I.O.O.F. & Knights of Pythias are still being researched. Both have names etched on the blades. Last is marked Toledo but the pommel has words in ltalian on both sides.

Nice variety of swords there K7K - very eclectic. I am looking forward to seeing the others you have as well. And of course, I now have to take photos of mine so I can play in this sand box with you! Always fun to swap stories and knowledge on the "S" collections. I am impressed with your fraternity swords - I have not heard of I.O.O.F, or Knights of Pythias for that matter. Your Toledo sword - that looks to be an El Sid variant - always a crowd pleaser.

The I.O.O.F. is the lndependent Order of Odd Fellows; a very old fraternal organization as is the Knights of Pythias.

Thank you Phil and to all who replied. Here are a few more that are either long knives or short swords. Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, & Filipino.

Last post for now. Another not quite as large golang and two pairs of Philippine tourist swords made entirely from water buffalo horn & engraved.
